Drug and alcohol tests take place Monday through Friday at 8 a.m. at the Justice Court building located at 71 North Maine Street. On weekends, the random time drug and alcohol tests will take place is left on our answering machine, which you can reach by calling 775-423-4222.
Individuals placed on random testing are assigned a color. The individual must call 775-423-4222 each morning between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. and listen to what colors are drawn for the day. If their color is called they must appear that day at 8 a.m, Monday through Friday, and at the time indicated on the message on Saturday and Sunday for testing.
Each individual ordered to alcohol test will be given their first testing tube. That tube must be kept and brought in for each test. If a replacement tube is needed, there is a $0.50 charge. Individuals should refrain from using mouthwash or germ-ex, smoking, or using any type of inhalants for 30 minutes prior to the test.
Fees & Procedures
There is currently no fee for drug testing. Individuals need to arrive ready to provide a sample and are instructed not to bring personal items in with them. Individuals will be asked to empty pockets and may be subject to a pat-down search prior to their test.
