The Board of Churchill County Commissioners is seeking the names of public-spirited citizens who are willing to serve as a alternate member on the Churchill County Board of Equalization (BOE). The Board of Equalization is a board appointed by the Board of County Commissioners who is authorized and directed to determine the valuation of any property assessed by the County Assessor. Based upon such determination, the Board of Equalization may change and correct valuation found to be incorrect as is necessary to make it conform to the taxable value of the property assessed. The board holds meetings as necessary to care for the business of equalization presented to it. The county is seeking to fill one alternate BOE term that expires on December 31, 2023.
