Nevada Small Business Development Center

Downtown Fallon

Nevada Small Businesses continue to struggle with the economic fallout related to COVID-19. Recent news from the U.S. Small Business Administration marked another setback for many in our business community hoping to keep their doors open through the CARES Act loan funds, which ran short of funding on April 16. There is increased uncertainty at the moment while Congress works toward passing future funding legislation.

Prepare loan paperwork now

The Nevada Small Business Development Center continues to be your first call during a small business crisis. We urge you to prepare loan paperwork and be at the ready for the next wave of funding. Our business advisors are at the ready to help answer your questions regarding both the Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) and the Payroll Protection Program (PPP). As a partner with the US SBA, we are on the front lines with up-to-date information. Our resources are available to you right now to help you prepare your application, gather information, or work on reporting for PPP funds you may have received.

Adaptability is key

As we continue to weather this storm, please use the free resources we provide through our website to prepare your business resilience or restructure your current business model. Adaptability is necessary for business success and we are here to help you maneuver the changing landscape. There are local grant programs that may be created and we urge you to reach out to your local economic development authority to discuss possible funding opportunities. Contact Sara Beebe at sara@cedaatracts.com here in Churchill County and Fallon.

Show caution against cybercrime

Please be cautious about small business loans that come through your email or social media sites. We urge you to vet these sites and organizations to ensure that you are not at risk for cybercrime.

Made in Nevada resource

Nevada small businesses are the backbone of our economy and as such, we continue to promote your services through our Made in Nevada Deals at www.madeinnevada.org. If you have a small business offer we can share, please reach out! Nevada SBDC’s Business Environmental Program will also be assisting with COVID-19 industry standards for business re-openings, to keep customers and employees safe.

We want to encourage you to stay positive and thank you for your hard work in developing Nevada business!
