Organization and Duties

The Sheriff's Office is separated into two bureaus: Operations and Support. Each bureau is directed by a captain. Operations is comprised of the Patrol and Investigations Divisions. The primary responsibilities of the Operations Bureau include first-response public safety and investigation of criminal activity. 

Support is comprised of the Detention, Communications and Civil Divisions. The primary responsibilities of the Support Bureau include housing, care of and transportation of prisoners, the dispatch center and emergency 9-1-1 center, and civil process.
